That’s Not a Dog

DNR reports that we may have a unlikly prowler, Beware!

EASTON, Md. (AP)- What looked like a dog carcass along Route 50 in Easton last week turned out to be a coyote.

State natural resources officials say coyotes are becoming more common on the Eastern Shore and have been found in every county in Maryland.

Karina Blizzard, associate director for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources Wildlife and Heritage Service, said coyotes are established in every county in Maryland.

Trapper Michael Adcock of Queenstown said he usually traps coyotes around Washington but responds to eight to 10 coyote reports a year from the mid-Shore.
